Part 9 is were daddy talks about me ^w^
For example, even though the notion that Fandom is merely a hobby was soundly trounced in part 3, Furries are still coming here and claiming the hobby defense. A hobby is not a subculture. A hobby is not a lifestyle. A hobby is not an ideology. The hobby defense is cover.
Furry is not a lifestyle but a fandom which is a subculture. What ideology do we have?
Furries are even coming here and claiming that the Furry ideology has saved lives.
Like a lot of communities including religion. I've seen it bost self-esteem and make people better. That's because most people in the fandom are genuinely good people.
But when someone looks into it deeper, all of a sudden, Fandom is a spectacular gospel Segway to utopia.
Wut?
If you have a choice of five public pools to swim in, and one only has a small amount of flesh-eating bacteria, guess what? We all know that you are not going to swim in that pool. If you do, it’s proof that you really have no problem with the bacteria.
Go to the ones with no bacteria... And fix the problem... If we know what pool has the problem we can fix it and if we don't know what pool has the problem we can find out and guess what... Fix it.
Then he goes all Godwin's law with Nazis
Nazis are painted with a broad brush, but even though you don’t agree with everything Nazis teach or do, the fact that you are a Nazi confirms that you don’t have a huge problem with the other stuff. In other words, the other ideologies of the movement are not a deal-breaker.
What does this have to do with liking cartoon animals?
This guy loves to call furries pedos however when I mention Christianity's problem he ignores it. I'm not saying he molest children but when I mention it those comments are either deleted or never responded to. I'm not saying he is but... He is part of a community with a track record that wouldn't surprise me. After all broad brush.
Let’s talk about Fandom being a “healthy coping mechanism.” But wait, isn’t a hobby a good coping mechanism for a troubled person? Yes,
Furry can be a healthy coping mechanism. But it shouldn't be the only mechanism
Fandom is just another form of escapism.
Escapism - The tendency to seek distraction and relief from unpleasant realities, especially by seeking entertainment or engaging in fantasy.
Lets fact it religion, hobbies, fandoms are all forms of escapism. At the same point, we will die and we have ways to distract ourselves. What's better heaven or eternal void?
I didn’t do it, my other personality did it.
That's called a mental illness not furry.
Yet another form is Victim Mentality
Religion is the embodiment of a victim mentality.
One advocate even came here claiming that this alternate identity serves to find the real self and subsequently accused me of being un-self-aware accordingly.
The reason I say you don't have self-awareness is a lot of your arguments don't apply to us but you. It sounds like you have a personal problem.
Another familiar attempt to disqualify the author as one able to have a valid opinion for various and sundry reasons concerns a supposed inability to know the internet as a genre.
The lack of understanding of the topic shows ignorance. Reading your blog I don't even know what a furry is. I'm asking do you understand this is normal internet culture. Replace furry with another subculture on the internet and nothing changes.
Gee whiz, there is just no way to know where I am coming from because I am not internet savvy.
It shows your lack of knowledge of internet culture. Again nothing about what you wrote on furry is abnormal on the internet.
Frankly, this attempt at discrediting a detractor is so lame that I am not motivated in the least to address it.
I wasn't trying to discredit you I'm asking a question
Lastly, we did see some honesty in comments defending the movement’s anti-God mentality.
Pointing out the obvious irony = anti-god.
